We specialize in the import, export, and wholesale of seafood products. Our main offerings include fresh and frozen tuna, as well as plant-based processed products. CHOKAI Co., LTD., located in Tokyo, Japan, has many years of experience in exporting Japanese foodstuffs and a proven track record of success.

Moreover, we utilize our extensive network of importers, especially those in Asia and North America. As a direct importer of Canadian sea urchin, we supply this delicacy to Japanese sea urchin processors and also sell tuna and crab.

Message from the President:

It has been 30 years since I entered the food industry. I started my career as a sushi chef, and the sushi made by the master at that restaurant was incredibly delicious. Whenever I delivered it, customers always praised it. Thus, I realized the importance of making people happy.

Since then, my roles have changed in various ways. However, I have always strived to do work that brings joy to our customers. I also feel that the recognition of Japanese cuisine around the world is growing, and the level of appreciation in various countries is rising year by year. This is due to the efforts of suppliers and chefs who overcome different customs and cultures from Japan, as well as the hard work of producers and distributors in Japan who support them.

Nevertheless, in recent years, we are living in a world where the conventional wisdom no longer applies. Despite this, I believe our mission remains to contribute to the development of Japanese food culture.

In 2023, to expand our sales channels and develop our business in the American market, we entered into a capital partnership with a local partner. Moving forward, we aim to contribute even more to a larger number of people.

Our Company Mission:

We are dedicated to developing various plant-based ingredients to replicate traditional Japanese dishes. Our mission has two main objectives. First, to respond to the recent vegan boom and, second, to eliminate animal-based ingredients. By doing so, we can offer a wide variety of delicious Japanese foods that were previously difficult to export globally. Consequently, this allows us to provide safe and delicious options for health-conscious consumers and to promote Japanese food culture worldwide.

We have a system in place that enables us to promptly provide information to our customers, and we select plants that will not pose a problem in the event of an FDA inspection.
 In addition, promising companies with advanced technology that have not yet acquired FSSC 22000 certification are requested to do so after explaining the characteristics of the overseas market to them.

We carefully examine the regulations of each country and take the utmost care to ensure that our customers can sell our products with peace of mind.

Exporting food products to the U.S. presents various hurdles, but we believe that with the right approach, these can be overcome. We believe that one of the reasons for the difficulties is the unnecessary certification system without reliable information, and the unplanned approach without understanding the needs of the U.S. market for the products it is seeking. We are excited to improve this situation!
